Kivu
She was designed for an owner who wished the comforts of life normally found in large motor yachts but in a sailing vessel with the ability to explore the hidden creeks and harbours of the Caribbean. To this end she has a lifting keel ideal for exploring those hidden creeks and cays to which larger vessels do not normally have access. He was also a Mafia money launderer (allegedly) and is currently serving time for this endeavour.
She has twin engines, twin generators, full heating and with air conditioning throughout. Her interior is french polished wood, and she has a large fridge, large freezer, icemaker, microwave and conventional oven, washing machine etc. Her cutter ketch rig can all be rigged from the cockpit and benefits from electro-hydraulic furling sails throughout including in-mast for the main and mizzen. She also has an extensive downwind wardrobe including 2 asymmetric spinnakers. Jamieson has owned her since 1996 and she has undergone a £250,000 refit including complete repaint and new interior in leather and french polished cherry wood.
She has a large open cockpit which has a complete canopy. This can be converted into a sun canopy or can be removed entirely thus all vagaries of the local weather can be catered for.
